Hi to all, I have picked up a SB45 that appears to be in repairable condition. I would like to bring it back to as close to original as possible.
The motor is a 3hp B&S Model 80202 Type 0879-01 Code 78092101.
The hand grips I am not sure if they are original to this model.
The reel has thicker blades than my other machines but have been machined or shaped to give a narrower cutting edge, never seen this before.
As for the chains and sprockets, they are good for scrap metal as the chain has never been oiled.
This is a twin rail machine, unfortunately the id label is detached from the machine but in my possession. I am sure this id label came with the machine as I took it off myself. It is just a sticker.
Please check out the photo's and try to help me with the correct period parts.
Thank you for the picture. I have another SB45 with the exact same motor which also has the same hand grips. I think the motor was manufactured on 21st of September 1978. If this is the original motor then the mower would have been built maybe early 1979.
Does the brochure show a picture showing the labels etc. I would like to be certain of the labels before purchasing.
