G'day folks,

This one was broadcast recently on ABC RN; https://www.abc.net.au/radionationa...ustralias-love-affair-with-lawn/12972284

Quote
A travelling exhibition following the history of the lawn, and of that game changer, the lawn mower, has just opened in Canberra. Garden designer Richard Heathcote has curated the show – the inspiration and content comes from the Australian Museum of Gardening, based at the heritage estate of Carrick Hill in Adelaide, where Annie Hastwell went to meet him.

Cheers,

Hi Gadge
I had no knowledge of this one. Many thanks!

It is important that credit is given here to this exhibition,
and particularly to the second interviewee.

Folks probably will not know that the second story teller on the
ABC audio is Grant Simpson - an SA collector who has given so much
back to garden equipment history - in travelling displays of his collection,
but also in his capacity for reproducing decals used on old lawnmowers.
He is ... Silensmessor - the quiet achiever.

He is an ODK member.

Hi Gadge and CyberJack,
I can vouch for the quality of Silensmessor's work with his decals. They are a life saver in the quest to get everything right in getting your lawnmower renewed to original appearance.
I'm still waiting on his V40 engine pack stickers to be released for my Mustang GTS Vortex style cover.

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
