Hi forums. So this is my first post, so please bear with me.
Just picked up a Victa 18 model 5 special. Unlike a lot of people, I actually intend to use this mower regularly.
It’s in remarkably good condition, starts first pull. But it either doesn’t have a complete/correct choke air filter.
Where can I get one? I found exactly 1 on eBay for $180 which is more than I paid for the mower! Could I use a generic part? Any recommendations would be a huge help. I’m in Australia.
What I would personally do (since you are using it and not a show piece) is put a later 70's white victa housing with paper filter for better engine life, plus easier on the wallet as well.
If worse comes to worse, throw on an easy to get Rover filter housing for now and try to track down a Victa one
Somewhere on here is the Victa bulletin saying 'we no longer make the old housings, use the white one in servicing'
As Tyler suggests if you are not using it for show I would use a Rover filter body. They should be easy to find as I have a few kicking around here. From memory you can then use the long Victa filter
Hi norm. Thanks for the reply. I’m a total newbie at this, my memory of Victas is back to the early 80s. So I don’t quite know what part you are describing. Any further help would be great.
