Hi all

Just a quick note to say that repco have a few reasonable and a few very good deals on this weekend. Looks like they have deliberately put some things on clearance to prevent you getting 25% off with Autoclub membership, but may have stuffed it up a bit.

I would suggest doing a Click and collect order today as it will probably expire midnight AEDT.

Castrol Air filter oil. For $5.50 a tin, I am actually going to give it a go as opposed to chain bar oil
https://www.repco.com.au/en/oils-fl...lter-oil-300g-3357643-119591-/p/A9366266

Synpower Valvoline is around $33 for most 5w30, 5w40, 10w50. If you voted in street machine of the year (bauer media) you can claim $20 cash back I believe. $13 for 5L of full synth oil is very good.

A few 200ml bottles of different 2 stroke oils are alright (at $2.20 for the Valvoline it’s a cheap value add on 2st mower sales for example and should help prevent straight fueling by new owners).
https://www.repco.com.au/en/oils-fl...hp-2-stroke-oil-200ml-1103-74/p/A8297789
https://www.repco.com.au/en/oils-fl...roke-engine-oil-200ml-3379988/p/A9561204

Flashlube injector cleaner is super concentrated, so you only need 50ml per tank, much more economical (and from what I hear better quality) than Valvoline injector cleaner you can often get for $1 per bottle at Autobarn
https://www.repco.com.au/en/oils-fl...shlube-injector-cleaner-250ml/p/A9288812

SAE30 @ $28 for 5l isn’t too bad, its rarely on any decent special, so if you insist on running your briggs on SAE30 its probably the way to go
https://www.repco.com.au/en/oils-fl...e-30-engine-oil-5l-rsesae30-5/p/A5369753

Castrol Activ 2T is $33 for 4L. Normally about $16 per L from memory, so not bad. Only semisynth, but JASO FD so should be a goer.

Thank heavens for a great topic Tyler in this desert of reading this week.

My car currently has about five different oils in it's sump after I emptied all the leftovers from different bottles in the garage, and I poured STP oil treatment from a 15 FL OZ (443ml) bottle. It still wasn't quite up to the max level so I had to pour the rest from the four litres I had remaining of my 6L container of Penrite Vantage mineral oil, leaving 3.6 litres approx I'm saving for the V8 Fairlane when it needs it's oil change. I wanted to save 4L as that's it's filling capacity.
It should be enough but would like to get more at a discount. I wish I had popped into my local Repco yesterday when I had the chance.

I notice they have Nulon general purpose premix coolant at 30% off but that expires today. Do you have to register or something in order to reserve some at the applicable discount to collect later?

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

MF, do click and collect. You dont have to register for an account (although its instantaneous and you dont need ABN or a credit card number straight away).

They are really good with C&C - they were poor to start but really got their act together. Note, do not do more than 2 orders with the same card in a day or it will glitch and you will be charged but not get the order.

Its only 25% off at repco, but not an awful price especially as its a 6L

Some things are autoclub only, you just put your NRMA card number in at checkout.

There system is easy to understand, I would strongly suggest doing it and not risking if they will still be around in stores tomorrow

I am amazed the Fairlane takes only 4L - I am used to tipping over 6 straight into a V6 Toyota

I picked up the oil in the nick of time today after trying out this service not long before midnight last night.
I paid in advance by CC but there was this option called Afterpay. Does that mean you can pay at the counter?

I did experience a glitch at the end after the checkout where the page took an age to load only for a message to say there was some problem due to possible Google chrome browser setting issue(??) but I got an email confirming my purchases.

When I got there, they fetched Vantage semi synth from the back instead of the mineral that I ordered, and I thought oh no, but the man went and fetched the right one for me on the shelf and assured me I was being charged correctly -he's been a great bloke in my dealings so I trusted him.
I'm awaiting two bottles of Nulon premix at the discount price I would have missed on if not for this handy online service. They will sms me.

MF, most of the specials I mentioned are still available - I was amazed they didn't end on sunday.

Afterpay is some stupid thing like a credit card without the interest that you pay off each week. I wouldn't find it stupid if I was one of the guys who bought share @ $3 in 2018 (now $92).

Sometimes their system glitches, especially around midnight when they have maintenance and specials going on and off

Anyway, this is my first post on the NBN network, gone from 10mb ps to 54mbps yay

Hi Tyler, regards the 4L sump capacity of the Windsor 302, that is probably down to being a pushrod design rather than a quad cam V6 with possible VVTI thrown in, which probably requires more oil circulating through it's system.

Got my black grease covered hands on these c&c deals today.
You'll have to desist Tyler or I'll go broke fast at this rate. I'm really thrilled to finally have a low range torque wrench though, after years of wanting one at reasonable cost. Sub fifty sounds pretty good to me for one of these specialty devices.

I didn't get the 3/8 ratchet-less handle as I remembered I pretty much have one with twist turn handle at infinite increments included in this set I obtained at Aldi years ago.

Hi MF

I don't think there will be any specials of that degree again until after christmas. That being said, new catalogue tonight, fingers crossed.

Worth noting they put the price for that SAE30 up to $17.99 per L

That valvoline deal I posted with the $4.75 after cashback per 5l, I ended up going a bit overboard on that...

Repco are running some promotion now that I doubt many of us will be interested in.

They (well Mobil 1 are doing with Repco, SCA, Autobarn, etc) are running some gimmick that if you buy a bottle of 5L Mobil 1, you get 2x$20 'Menulog' gift vouchers.

Whilst most mobil bottles are $50+, Repco have a mobil mineral 15w40 5L on clearance for $18

https://www.repco.com.au/en/oils-fl...2-15w-40-engine-oil-5l-135947/p/A9624850

Seems fairly available across the nation

So (and this is my understanding) you buy an $18 bottle of oil and get 2x$20 vouchers

Mathematically a good deal, but who knows

Hi Tyler,
Mobil (at least did) make decent oils and I'd buy it just for the Mobil branding on the bottle! I don't think Is use Menulog vouchers but I could give them to someone who could. I don't have the ML app (I assume it's an app ).
I suspect that's a ploy to get people on the service which I have no interest in, especially with the way these food deliverybusiness and some of their "contractors" operate. Fills me with disgust.
