Hi everyone. I have 'inherited' a Rover Rancher Hydro drive circa 1999 model 28266. The drive belt to the hydro drive came off. I removed the pulley on top of the hydro drive and re-fitted the belt but then the drive pedal no longer worked correctly in reverse. I discovered that the round 'L' shaper pin from the clutch/brake lever had come out of the adjuster so I re-fitted that but now the belt is way too loose and doesn't drive in forward or reverse. I'm guessing the belt is no longer routed correctly around the pulleys near the cutter deck. Unfortunately the owners manual does not show the routing of the drive belt around these pulleys. Any help would be greatly appreciated as the service centre is book out until after the new year!

Hi Bruce, I have subscribed to the mower repair manuals and parts lists (after I had mistakenly paid via the donate button)and now have access, but I can't seem to find the parts list for my mower with the details about the drive belt replacement. Your help would be appreciated. Thanks

The parts list is HERE maybe you were looking in the lawnmower area and not the ride on mower area. If you look at page 9 it shows how the belt is loaded on the hydro drive and page 5 shows the cutter belt setup. I will issue a refund for the donation tonight. Let me know and if I have more information I will upload it.

Yes, the Mower Place sold me the right belt, (1/2"x86 od, 84 id)Rover #A12859, the equivalent GA Spares #BEL6886.
After dropping the cutter deck I could see why i no-longer had reverse - the drive belt had jumped off the front motor drive pulley and was sitting on the smaller diamter pulley shaft between the drive and cutter pulleys. What ever caused the pulley to jump off also took a huge chunk out of the plastic idler pulley, (#A08585) so it was handy having the parts list there on a Saturday afternoon ringing around to find a shop that was still open and had one in stock.
I also noticed that the cutter deck brake block (#A10566)had worn right down to the metal backing plate on the leading edge, so I drilled out the rivets and rotated it 180 degrees and re-rivetted it back on.
cheers.
