I decided to take the deck off to fix it up properly.
The blades are actually 18 inches long.
So far I have pulled the brake assembly apart cleaned it up and now moves freely and works . The clutch mechanism needs the hole the linkage slots into welded to fill in were it’s been long gated due to wear . Also need a collar to fit over the bolt that engages the blades to stop it moving back and forwards hopefully that will stop the belt from falling off and some new blade spindles . What I cannot find is a diagram to find out how it’s suspended at the rear

The deck looks a very similar setup to your Roper.
That Falcon on gumtree says, Very sought after, Rare Collector’s item,but it's been for sale for
