Hey guys,
Found this Masport on side of road, but it was missing the pulls start cord, and the throttle cable. Comes with allow base.
I replaced the pull cable, though it's shorter than it should be. I wound the recoil spring as far as I could so I could use a good length of cord, but im about 30cm short, so I have to be careful pulling it.
Other than that, it seemed to start fine, runs a little average, needs a carb clean.
Main issue is the base height adjustment. I have to keep it at the max height (last 3 slots), any lower and it starts cutting into the dirt. Not sure why this is, perhaps it's not the correct base, or poor design ?
The other issue is, using the mower, the height adjustment lever constantly pops out of the selected height and the mower drop in height
. Because of this, I cracked the sh*ts and kicked the mower, resulting in a busted wheel (oops).

Anyone know much about this mower, or know an alternative mower base this engine might fit on? I have a couple of spare Victa alloy bases, probably from the 70/80s sitting here, not sure if it's bolt in OK, or whether the base is too shallow for the cut?Only other option is to try replace the front axle with a spare from another mower... whether it's fit or not, unknown.. or I try fit different front wheels.
