If you have spark with the kill wire disconnected, and no spark with it connected, the kill wire is grounded somewhere along its length. Did you have the speed control in the run or start position? If you had it in the stop position, the kill switch will have been closed, grounding the kill wire.

If there is no spark with the speed control in either run or start, there is a fault in the kill system. Essentially there are two things it could be. The speed control could be maladjusted, so the kill switch it closed when it shouldn't be, or the kill wire could be faulty: insulation worn through somewhere along its length, or one of the end terminals touching something it shouldn't touch.

To attach the owner manual to your post, first select "Switch to full reply screen" at the bottom of the posting box. Then you will see "Post Options" at the lower left of the screen, and you can select either Poll Manager or File Manager. Click on File Manager. You will then be able to attach a PDF copy of the manual to your post.
