Tentimes, I think what Grumpy might have been reffering to would be that when you sprout two part numbers you are alienating probably 95% of the people that come on the forum that do not run off parts listings and model numbers.
Its like I have a blah blah model rancher. Well to me there three types. The old rancher 2, the later 11hp with the 5 speed transaxle and the autodrive. Sure theres great heaps of variatons probably 30 or 40 model numbers, but I cant tell you what part number is what or what model is what configuration.
So to work out if I can help you I would have to search the model you mention and the part number.
More info means you are telling me yes or no if I can help you straight off the bat.
You did that with the pic above but its still not enough.
Going by the pic above that bit looks familiar, could it be a rancher auto drive? that bit in the pic is up in the back shed in a plastic tub.
And if its not and its a similar shaped part on an earlier 5 speed transaxle job there a machine out the front thats up for wrecking shortly (have two here and havent looked under either.)
And theres always a chance that they are the same on both machines. The ranger and the rancher share a lot of parts too. A lot of different mower share a lot of different parts.
So yeah a picture helps me a great deal.
I can spot the difference by the bonnet on the rancher. Its not an exact science but it gets me close.
Cheers, Bob.
