well today ive pulled it out of the shed after about two years of thinking about it, cant rush these things they last longer that way no use, anyhow had the engine cowling up, looking intently and lowered the cutting deck , hey presto the engine tipped forward, a knowledgeable bloke suggested that some mtds had rubber mounted engine mounts sure enough i pulled one of the mounts out and no rubber surrounding the steel plug which fits into the second chassis which the engine is solidly mounted to the frame so i think its solved thanks for everyones help
