Id say thats the problem.
Did you hit it with the engine??? Engine is probably not the problem. Easy to check, ears busted off the motor?? Bolts tight???

Id say Now the blade is slipping. Belt spins but the blade it is spinning is not going at the same speed as where it fixes on the spindle is loose or broken. Id assume its a triple blade setup.
Or
Hitting something with the deck you might have bent a mounting bracket moving the deck affecting belt tension.
Or
Hitting something and jambing up and spinning the belt has wrecked the belt, fit new belt.
Or
Its got an electric clutch and hitting something you jambed up the deck and the clutch has crapped out.
