If it won't give an attempt at firing with a squirt of fluid and the starter is cranking the motor over then there is another issue with the motor it is not a carby issue. Carby may be a problem, but using the starter fluid bypasses the carby so it can fire for a second or two. This indicates a problem with either valves/compression or spark. It may be a timing issue if the keyway has moved/sheared
