Hello ODK History Lovers
The great Turner Manufacturing Company introduced the polythene catcher to Australia.
Shortly, all the major makers would follow suit in releasing rear discharge plastic catchers -
except Simpson-Pope.

This topic covers the Turner side-discharge polythene catcher and it appears these
were released in late 1967 for the 1968 season. A point of note is that no other major
maker seems to have bothered in converting their old steel side catcher designs to the
new lightweight plastics at this time. I guess this is symbolic of the hegemonic rise of
the rear catcher models in the 1960s.

Also note that the catcher has a product name 'Duralite'. I suspect, like Turner's
use of 'Derlin' wheels, that these plastics were products of the North American giant
DuPont. It appears that Turner looked toward the USA in following their advertising,
management, and manufacturing practices.

This document - from my collection - appears to have been part of a dealer sales
manual
('Section W') in both advertising and having fitting instructions.

As always, available as a download for personal use.
