I found this one abandoned outside a mower shop in the car park. It had a missing blade disc and no catcher. After getting it home I replaced the muffler, fitted a spare blade disc, sharpened the blades and made up some collars to fit over the axle bushes to stop movement due to worn arches in the chassis metal (see picture). It did the trick and it starts and mows beautiful. I have a spare thumb latch catcher on it.
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
This is the one with minimal throttle control. It either goes high, medium high or stops. Normally wouldn't bother me, but a pain when mowing the nature strip as I have to shut it down every time someone walks by!!!
