Hi guys,

My old Anniversary 12 has very little drive in forward and rattles like crazy.
Reverse is perfect.

I think I've found the problem (Sorry, I don't know the correct names for each part):
The clutch plates hit on the push lever, preventing the forward drive plate contacting firmly with it's disc.

Trouble is, I can't work out how to fix it.
I've looked at the minimal sideways adjustment available by using the two 30mm nuts on either side of the assembly.
It doesn't seem to do much at all.

It feels like there's quite a bit of play where the lever pivots, but I can't see it, or work out how to get it out to have a look at it! (These old Greenfields were not designed to be worked on easily!)

Can anyone advise me what I need to do?

Thanks in advance,
Greg

Hi Greg, try moving the shaft towards the sprocket side, from memory there is a grub screw in the bearing collar that should hold the shaft from moving sideways and preventing the clutch plate from hitting the bracket. The noise it makes is terrible

Hi Norm,

Yes, it's quite a loud rattle! lol!

I'll check it out mate.
Thank you.

Cheers,
Greg

Thank you once again Norm.
You always seem to come through with the goods!

It worked!
There were actually two grub screws on each end of the shaft, (all of which were loose!) so I forced the shaft over to the side with a pinch bar as I tightened the grub screws.
Seems fine so far.

Cheers,
Greg
