Hi CP, Basically you start with the sole plate first and then the rear roller ensuring that the slotted side bearing carrier is fitted on the RHS if looking from the rear, after that fit the land roll clutch drive in its two sections with the outer pressure plate last, this way you can fit the chain to drive the roller. There are specific rear roller fitting and alignment instructions in the following thread. https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/u...Rear_Drum_Assy_-_Bearing_.html#Post77975From there you can loosely fit the reel bearing carriers and slide the reel in to place ready for final adjustment. Assemble the transfer shaft and its bearing / carrier and attach it at the top of the side plate and also assemble the primary clutch assembly into its frame on the top engine deck. Loop up all the chains and slowly adjust it all up as it should be. I guess from there onwards its all been covered on here again and again but if you get into any strife don't hesitate to holler ! Cheers, BB.

Hello Crumpet, BB, and all followers
Amazing documentation there. I particularly love the first image (above). Brilliant!
Clearly, this post will be moved at some point. I feel we have moved beyond introductions here.
Many thanks for this great restoration record.

Hi Jack,
I was going to suggest that to you to do. Can you move this to "Customising and Restoring" sub forum please ? as it gone well past the intros stage.
Cheers, BB.

Hi CP,
That new chrome just looks divine doesn't it. I can never understand how some folk go for the cheap option of painting the handle bar assembly. I know that Chrome work isn't cheap any more due to all the EPA regulations and what plating shops have to conform with, but may I ask how much it set you back ?
Cheers, BB.

Hi BB
Yes the chrome looks the part I think but a bit costly. $250 from memory for the Handle bars the rear roller drive lever and the throttle control Worth every penny. Stunning restoration. That green is gorgeous!! Is it hammered finish? Who mixed it for you? Don't forget to wipe oil on that fresh chrome work.
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
