What's your plan of attack on stripping back the parts. Did you "get a poloroid" of every detail before breakdown. Do you have a time frame to complete the project.

Who uses "Polaroids" now a days ??. They were used for taking dirty pictures of your girlfriends back in the 1970's devilchilli

Believe it or not, film is still made for several model series of Polaroid cameras! It costs about $5 per shot, though...

Gadge

Yep took pic's of all parts as stripped off the mower
Welded some broken bits. Next step is to sand blast all the old paint and rust off. Meanwhile I'll recon the engine and wait for parts to arrive.

Hi Gadge,

Being an Ex-Photographer we used to use Polaroids in Polaroid Backs on Medium Format Cameras all the time to check our lighting and when we thought it was right you'd swap the Polaroid back with another back that was loaded with your nominated film, either Transparency, Negative or Black & White. Now with digital camera you just aim and shoot and make the changes as you need to. Everyone's an expert now and the skill is more in the post production (photoshop)than the image taking itself.

Cheers,
BB.

Hello Ken, Mod BB and GM Gadge

This topic is getting a bit 'racey'...
I mean 'dirty pictures', stripped down', ...

Ken's image of a 'stripped' model is fantastic!
I love the classical fountain and garden setting.

Brilliant!

Ah yes BB,
The halcyon days when Hasselblads and Mamiya RB67's ruled.

I used to be pretty seriously into film photography in my high school days in the 70's, but mostly B&W 35mm, plus a little 6x6cm format on 120. Did the full processing thing for B&W; even bought my 35mm film as bulk rolls, and loaded it into the cassettes.

Sold off most of my processing gear years ago, but I still have one Kodak developing tank...

Cheers,
Gadge

Hi Gadge,

Well you just mentioned the best 2 120 roll film cameras. Our work place units were Blads and my own personal was the RB67 with heaps of extras, 6 lens' Prism Finder, Sportsfinder, many extra backs, even the big 360mm lens of its day in medium format cameras. I miss the RB tremendously as it was one of the most versatile cameras especially with its revolving back. No need to waste image are by cropping for whichever scape you used. Sold the lot around 12 years ago just when the camera shops were telling everyone not to panic as film cameras will never be replaced by digital, boy were they wrong. Luckily I got back what the whole outfit owed me but now I would've lost heaps.

Cheers,
BB.

Hello Gadge and BB

I had a Rolleiflex TLR 2.8 at school (second hand).
I regret to this day, trading it in on another, new Rollei.

Ken's photo reminds me of the famous Busby Berkeley shots.
If only the camera was 'looking down' and their were showgirls.

Nonetheless, a great image.
