I'm working on a Victa Powertorque, have changed the rings. It starts easily but revs too high when you move throttle to Run. Before I changed the rings it did not overrev so I'll assume for now that there are no air leaks or perished o-rings. It idles fine on Start but anything over that it revs too hard. I can recall reading that one can suck on the governor hose while the engine is running to detect vacuum leaks. The hose from memory is pretty short, how would you do that? Overrevving seems common on these engines, before I go pulling things apart again, I just want to make sure I've checked the simple things first.
