Hi Guys,
While I'm working on the motor and waiting on parts, I thought I may start pulling my Rover Thoroughbred down and start the stripping and painting process. Ironically enough, I have also picked up a SB45 which I'll pick up this weekend(yay).
Anyhow, I have a few questions before I head in a direction I'm unlikely to return from.
What's the best method for stripping down the paint? I've read a few posts where folk have just given the old paint a good sand and then priming, but not sure how effective or how good this is verses other options?
What sort of primers should I be looking to use, and are there any particular brands I should look for?
I notice a lot of folk use spray cans, but I'm curious how great this method is verses other methods such as compressor spraying and such? Also, is it possible to get any form of customized paint placed in an aerosol for you to use?
Sorry for the newbie questions guys, painting isn't my strong point in the knowledge department, and would much prefer not to have to do it three times to learn my lessons if it can be avoided.
Cheers,
Chris
