Most of us will use a spray gun and use the original type finish which was Hammertone on these SB's. Those without these facilities will use spray cans but you won't find any of the original colours that SB used in a can.
These have to be colour matched to the inside of the chain case where the paint hasn't been affected by the sun.

I live a 24 Hour lifestyle, but every now and again I seem to fall asleep, well at least that's what my wife tells me.
you will get the best hammertone finish if you induce the paint out of the spray pack with a well poised and debonair flick of the wrist. very important to evenly coat so you need to get the correct sized screwdriver to entice the product out of the spray pack. i learned all i know on this site
Well if you're not keeping the original engine then I guess you aren't that concerned with keeping the original paint finish so just grab any of the spray pack metal finish paints that don't need a primer on clean metal such as Dulux Metalguard or Killrust. I use the spray packs to spot spray welds on trailers as I build them and then do a complete spray job with a gravity feed low pressure gun once it is finished.
