Howdy all, my old Rover Rancher Ride-on Selector Drive has lost the spring for the transaxle jockey arm. The clutch/brake feels slack now and the transaxle belt has no tension. The trouble is I can't work out where/how to fit a new one - the diagram in the manual doesn't make it clear.

It's part 13 on this manual page. Part 2 is the jockey arm.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

From memory it attaches to the chassis to provide tension on the belt

Cheers. So what about the other end? Around the bolt - part 36?

Looking at the diagram it looks like there is an unused third hole in the plate that would be a likely candidate for the spring to hook to, the one next to the bent up tab. Have a look there and see if there are wear marks from the old spring.

Had some time to nut this out today - pretty easy & straightforward once I took the back wheel off.

There's just a lock nut at the bottom of the bolt(36) which I think holds the spring on, then the spring just stretches over to a couple of holes on the framework.
