Hello
seanw,
aussietrev and
ContributorsYeah, it makes for a laugh doesn't it.
Those old Toros are real beauties - particularly the larger middle one.
As a teen, I had the 'experience' of using a big Lloyds powered sidewheel.
It was an American Pennsylvania copy (made in England). It had separate clutchs
for each wheel on each handle (LH & RH). I showed it who was boss -
and it wasn't me ...
I hope, some day, to write an article on the use of women and children in
lawnmower advertising. Here's a rare early advertisement for a Victa Rotomo from
15 November, 1952 (just months after production started):-
So, a 'toecutter' is safe for a ten-year-old then?
How times have changed.---------------------------------------

p.s. apologies to
seanw for going off-topic.
I'm keen to know how that turns out Sean. Hopefully not the
Killing Season.
