A few weeks ago my neighbours
wife, directly across the road, threw out her husbands lawnmower. He had upgraded, to the same???.
It took me about 15 mins new sparkplug and new fuel to get it going.
My dilemma is.
Should I mow my front lawn with it. He is a great bloke and I dont want him to feel like Poo?

If you do, It's over for him..
go offer it to them, that will ease the issue and I bet they'll say "nah you keep it"
But make it sound like you did some "BIG" fixing to get it going.. hehe

Paul

Just talk to them and offer it back....they'll say no, having replaced it but you look like a good guy. Win Win

Yes, offer it back so the wife can say thanks very much and then put it on Gumtree to recoup some cash on the new one ! I reckon it could go either way, never under estimate wives and money :-). Let it cool off in the shed for a few months and if noticed tell them the motor was buggered and you scored a replacement from the curb :-)

Gee, OH&S would have a fit over that Toro ad these days, no safety gear on the operators and those machines look like they'd do a fine job of mincing up stray pets and children.

Hello seanw, aussietrev and Contributors

Yeah, it makes for a laugh doesn't it.
Those old Toros are real beauties - particularly the larger middle one.

As a teen, I had the 'experience' of using a big Lloyds powered sidewheel.
It was an American Pennsylvania copy (made in England). It had separate clutchs
for each wheel on each handle (LH & RH). I showed it who was boss -
and it wasn't me ...

I hope, some day, to write an article on the use of women and children in
lawnmower advertising. Here's a rare early advertisement for a Victa Rotomo from
15 November, 1952 (just months after production started):-

So, a 'toecutter' is safe for a ten-year-old then?

How times have changed.

p.s. apologies to seanw for going off-topic.
I'm keen to know how that turns out Sean. Hopefully not the Killing Season.

This is the culprit.
This is his new wardrobe.

She would sell it on gumtree.
Is this a good plan??
