WELL BECAUSE YOU HELPED ME WITH A HONDA HARMONY AWHILE AGO MY FAMILY THINKS I AM NOW THE REPAIRMAN--WE HAVE THE ABOVRE MENTIONED MACHINE WITH A NEW KOHLER CV15T-41582 ENGINE. HIS PREV. ENG.WAS KEY START-WHEN THIS ARRIVED NO KEY SO HE TOOK STARTER OFF OLD KOHLERCV14S-14107,REWIRED TO MAKE LOOK THE SAME. IT RAN FOR HIM , THEN HE DID NOT HAVE TO CUT FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS,WENT TO USE AND BATTERY WAS DEAD.---REPLACED, STARTED USED AGAIN FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS---LET ENGINE IDLE WHILE EMPTYING AND MACHINE DIED AND WILL NOT START AGAIN---CHARGED UP AND STARTED.
I DID TRY VOLT TESTER AND BATTERY ACTUALLY DRAINS DOWN WHEN OFF. SORRY SO LONG WINDED---ANY HELP WOULD AS USUAL BE APPRECIATED

Disconnect the battery when finished mowing untill you can get to the bottom of the problem Cheeers Joe

RANGER,

Sounds like they have connected the wiring on the switch wrong or they have a short but if the motor will not generate power back to the coil you will always have the problem.

To check with multi meter just put it onto the battery terminal and check you should have at least 13 + volts going back into the battery. cheers2
