I recently picked up a wreck of a machine.

It has a pair of upside down mounted Eaton 771 A & B hydros in it.
The wheels will not turn.

Is there a bypass lockout??

I would like to be able to move it about. The wheels will go back and forth a bit, its not the park brake, it is not connected but the levers does move and it will lock the wheels up solid.

The oil reservoir is low, below the pickup, I would like to know what needs to be done so that I do not damage the hydros when I have a crack at getting the motor running.
So I would like to, free them so they will bypass/free wheel.
Change the filers and oil.

Before I start the motor.
Can anyone help??

Yeah thanks, on a hunch I went out and worked it out myself.
Then I got onto that and it all made sense after the fact.

That PDF does not say what exact oil to use, can anyone tell me what type/grade??

I've replied to the oil question in your other thread, Bob. It is mainly a matter of figuring out whether Eaton is one of the hydraulic equipment makers who is happy with the use of engine oil in their light duty hydrostatic transmissions, which is a popular approach. Remember though, do not mix synthetic hydraulic fluid with engine oil. You might find this interesting:

Personally I'm used to being told to use ordinary ATF in things like backhoes, front loaders etc, but engine oil in tractor PTO hydraulics. However, light duty hydrostatics are quite a bit flimsier than industrial equipment like that.
