Hi bruce got a small peoblem with a vc 160 it has new base and head gasets, new points the condencer, new pistion n rings, Caby has been cleaned.
Now for the problem it Revs very high on run and if u back it off it does nothing but back fire what could the problem be.
Here are my thoghts on what it is not celling right somewhere but is the qustionis where tell me please if im on the right track or is the problem someelse caby is a g3

Adam, Did you check the top seal? It is easy to do just take off the flywheel and put some fuel between the crankshaft and the allow housing. If the fuel leaks out you will have to pull the motor a part again. I would be checking that first.

Hi bruce just quick update on this mower changed the motor yet again this motor has good seals but will run but is running like crap. Here is what its doing now takes awhile to start using a drill (240v) u hold the air hose and kill the air flow and runs fine let it go and it runs like its not getting anouth fuel into it so bruce give ur best idear whats is wrong not
P.s no work done ur craby as yet putting a driffrent g3 on tomorrow

changed craby running like a dream have to rebiuld the other g3

ADAM, Ok it is a carby issue. 1. Did you replace the 'O'ring on the brass jet and clean it? 2. Did you clean out the two holes in the alloy casing? 3. Did you check the float level? 4. Did you check the bottom seal? This is all you need to do to fix your problem.

changed the craby to a diffrent craby and it worked have pull the other one down and find out

ADAM, That is the easy way out to just change the carby. Did you clean out the two holes in the body of the carby where the main jet seats into and replace the 'O'ring. Also you need to check the gov gears and reset the vane. Let me know what you find out.
