Good morning/afternoon, I have a Victa steel chassis 160cc 2 stroke and my pull cord snapped to day... I has taken it all apart but am unable to retension the pull cord so it retracts. Please help thanks in advance ![[Linked Image from i194.photobucket.com]](http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z8/swashbuckla/Portstephens050.jpg)

swash, We have information on starters that will help you under spare parts and manuals in this forum. When you say that you took it apart, what do you mean? Is this engine a power torque motor or just the old 160cc engine? Can you post a picture of the starter on the board (the directions are in the help area)?

swash, Ok get the rope and lift it into the notch that is out of the plastic and then wind the pulley in a clockwise direction in order to get tension. If you don't get any tension you have either broken the spring or it has jumped out of the locating area. :bluesmileyb: If you have to pull it apart I would suggest that go to the parts list and manuals area as it has pictures as well to help.

swash, Where the plastic pulley(in your picture) is, the rope that goes through the alloy housing is where you pull the rope up and into the cut out of the plastic pulley. You then wind the in a clockwise direction and if you don't get tension you will have to go to parts list and manuals area which has pictures of the starter.
