I am currently replacing the 3 steel steering bushes, the first 2 which connect the steering arm to the kingpin are not in the drawings so no part #, the third is GT20024 is this readily available and how do you get the steering assembly out.
Any help would be great.

Hi besser_au, welcome to Outdoorking.

I'm not clear on which parts you are talking about with regard to bushes. By my reading the kingpin bushes seem to be GT12394 - Item 8 on the assembly diagram in the Illustrated Parts List.

For parts availability I think you will need to contact a Greenfield dealer, or perhaps the Greenfield service department.

To discuss how the steering is dismantled, I think we will need a series of pictures of your mower's steering.

Thanks for the reply, In my manual that came with my other greenfield mower (only difference is the blade engage set up) the part bush doesn't exist. Item 8 is a tie rod. but saying that your list may be more precise than my supplied manual. May try just to get some made as they don't look to be to hard to make.

Will do the pics of the steering assembly when I get to that point, just so there aren't more parts on the bench. one step at a time

Here are the pages from the Illustrated Parts List for the Evo 3 Mk 2:

Item 8 looks like the right bit to me, but I suggest you compare the diagram with your mower, and see if it all fits together.

Your right but that is not the drawing I have. is the Evo 3 Mk 2 A different ?
I have the owners manual for a evolution 3 Mk2 A, and on page 20 show a different picture.

https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=12089 second bottom one

But the item 3 GT 10037 ( Pivot Bush) looks like the part I am looking for. Item 8 parts are ok
How do do post pics?

If your mower is an Evo 3 Mk 2A, not an Evo 3 Mk 2, we have been discussing the wrong mower. Here is the Mk 2A steering parts diagram:

Here is the corresponding parts list:

What I would describe as the king pin bush is Item 8, Part Number GT12394. Note that 4 of them are required: right and left, upper and lower. Do not omit the thrust washer, GT2018, which must be placed between the underside of the front axle, and the stub axle, on each side. Note that these parts are identical to the Evo 3 Mk 2 parts.

I don't know what the story is on these different diagrams, besser. If you have a full owner manual for any model Greenfield, please upload it to this thread and we can then compare it with the parts lists we have. That way we can end up with better information for other members in the future.

To upload a PDF document, just click on Switch to Full Reply Screen at the bottom of the posting window, then click on File Manager. Then you can upload a PDF the same way you normally use for a picture.

Found the problem with the drawings, both greenfield s I have, have the same markings eg: Greenfield Evolution3 MK 2 A. But different years so the steering system is different as I found out today when I went to change the pivot bush on the other one. so that explains that part. Now just the upper steering chain & gear assembly to pull apart and see which bush it is( hopefully only the bush and not the gear)

Thanks for checking and finding it was already there besser, it is one of only two full Greenfield owner manuals we have at present. I was hoping you had a different one.

Steering bush all complete, turned out to be not the bush but the nylon sleeve in the gear that the bush sits in that the bolt goes through. Mongrel of a job to reassemble when everything is freshly greased, as you have to hold it all up and if you slip with something lining it all up or getting the chain on it all falls back off. just have to reset the stops and all done. Wheel bearings done (6203 2RS) if anyone needs to know. So a successful day so far.

It'll get easier each time you do it, besser, so if you've still got that machine in a dozen years when it needs attention again, you'll just whizz through the job.

Thanks for reporting back - I'll close this thread.
