Hi ODK members,

This post is purely speculative.
In the Sydney Morning Herald, 22 May, 1954 there appeared an advertisement for
a German-made utility vehicle:the Tempo Matador.

I made a connection with Victa because of the phone number in the advertisement - UF3093.
UF 3093 was Mervyn Richardson's domestic phone number and the number that served the
Victa story from the earliest days. The advertisement presents the number as the office number.

Mervyn was selling a relatively new 1952 1-ton truck "in excellent condition" in 1954.
I wonder whether this was Victa's first company vehicle? Did it pick up early components for assembly at
'The Shed'? Were Victas delivered to Sydney Customers on its tray?

We're not likely to ever know. But I can't help but think and speculate . . .
Remember, Mervyn Richardson was not new to wheeling and dealing in autos [see this forum].

Post WWII, these Tempo Matadors would have been the cheapest of delivery vehicles.
Mervyn Richardson would have needed such a vehicle in the earliest of days of the Victa Company.

Below is a great Youtube Clip on this vehicle:-
