I still haven't decided if I wanted to collect those ones yet. If I was to I'd hope that I could find some in the same condition as that one. Is that one around the 1980's?

Cool as don't have any paper work on them but I'm fairly sure that were early 80's and run along side the 2 stroke mustang. Which was the first model after the VC-Mustang. I think.

Great score, the base also looks great no splits
I took ownership of an impala, that is identical to the one pictured. Is mine a mustang or an impala what's the difference.

hey there ! very tidy base is almost perfect . there were 3 that i can think of mustang 4 , corvette 4, impala 4, monaro 4 think the only difference with the impala is that they used a air filter on the handles and the snorkle tube. and the usual colour change share some pic's on yours ? cheers tomo

Did you forget to check the year? I believe there was only small different's between them. The biggest differance was the name. Some had name plates that was near the carby.

Well that looks like a 1980 model to me.I thought it was from around that time frame.I just wasn't sure. Here is some codes of things I found on it. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/08/full-5048-12435-mustang_4_all.jpg) That proves that it has the right cowl and the right victacode sticker as well.Good work in finding that gem tomo.Just remember to enjoy it,if not send it to me and it can sit with the rest of the Mustangs here, and I can enjoy it.

hey Jeffrey thanks for sharing the paperwork , really like this one nice and original , noticed last night that im going to have to put a new bottom seal in it. got the drips. hope Agro Mick shares his impala now. i think if you were to collect them id collect them as a series. also sure they brought out sabre 4 stroke with a 92908 on the steel base.

Here is my impala You will note the carb has a snorkel but the base is covered in oil and soot where the exhaust exits against the base. This girl was received from roadside rubbish. I got I home put fuel in it and it started first pull. However the yard was promptly filled with smoke. I checked the oil level and that was low. I'm guessing someone lost the air leaner cover and element and has run it for years without the filter. The engine has no knocks so I would assume that the engine would only need some new rings to stop its pollution problem. Honestly I only wanted the base which doesn't have one nick out of it, for my vs sport with the g4 carby. Does anyone want to change my mind? ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/08/full-6968-12460-image.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/08/full-6968-12461-image.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/08/full-6968-12462-image.jpg)

nice machine man i would put a set of rings in it . you will find that the engine mounts are a lot larger and a victa 2 stroke wont be compatible thanks for the pics looks in good shape ... i may have a set of rings for it here

Yes tomo, they definitely made a sabre, white 4 stroke on a green steel deck. I sold it last week so unfortunately no photos.

They made so many names on them its very hard to keep up with them....
I have two impalas, one is good and in dry storage (thanks Grumpy) the other is quite sad and hadnt been started since the early 90's but it is smoky as hell.
A corvette, never tried to start it, in good nic in dry storage
Two monaros, one is smoky but runs well, the other is in near mint condition and I have never started it - dry storage.
A silver streak, very smoky, was involved in last years floods.
A special treak - very rare I sold my first one without thinking, have never got my hands on more than a engine for a second one.
Thats to name a few, I have a lot of them though and will probably never get to finish them all, im part way through selling/parting out some of my collection as at the moment a thumping great v8 crammed in a medium sized family sedan is taking more of my interest and is costing a lot.

Nooo way, I can't use this base with a two stroke? You may have just wrecked my week and its Monday.
What to do what to do? At least my two stroke catcher fits this base.
