I had this mower dropped off to me on Thursday and really don't know much about them. Also I really don't know whether it's worth fixing or not.If anyone can help me to decide then that would be great. Here's what it looks like. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/08/full-5048-11929-104_0185.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/08/full-5048-11931-104_0187.jpg) I have no air box cover. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/08/full-5048-11932-104_0188.jpg) I also don't have the catcher. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/08/full-5048-11933-104_0190.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/08/full-5048-11935-104_0191.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/08/full-5048-11936-104_0192.jpg) So keep in mind I don't have a catcher or air box cover, then is it worth it? Also what kind of engine has it got? I've never had this kind of engine before. If I did fix it up what's it worth?
Here for a good time, not a long time.

I see alot of these on ebay some in good condition an some not going. But on average I seen them go for 80-150. Its a bummer about no catcher

So cleaned up with catcher I guess I could still get around the 160 mark? I would only have the problem of a catcher.Don't even know what they look like.

Is this the engine that is nicknamed chonda? As it does look a little bit like a Honda engine. If somebody has a picture of a catcher that they can put up please? As I'm doing a hard-rubbish run tomorrow and I may see one,but won't know what I'm looking at.

Have not seen this engine before yet. Seems to be a mix of a Honda gxv140 and rover Chinese (Honda copy) engine.

chonda it is yes , i think they mostly changed cover and tanks . the same engine on bigw and bunnings type's (cheapies). newer ones seem a little better than they were though only problems i've seen lately are the starter rope breaking and throttle control worries

I'm not even sure what's wrong with it.It's full of fuel and it worries me,as he said he started to try and fix it them remembered he doesn't know anything about mowers.

The chondas I have repaired recently have not be activating the choke correctly, due to the poor throttle linkage design. They can be very hard to start of not choked correctly cold. Otherwise, they seem to run OK.

Is there some documents on how they go together? So I know what I'm looking at before I have a look.

Blumby, just "poke" around the choke setup, remove the throttle cable and and engage throttle assemby by hand, that way you'll get an idea of what needs to be tweaked in or out in order to make the choke engage on full throttle. Like rusty ute said, with these it's more often than not a choke issue and a carby clean at worst. Have a go, they're not that hard! As for a service manual, good luck with that, they don't exist, from what i'm led to believe. As for the catcher, when you see one you'll know, they're pretty unique because the 2 halves that join to make the cather are not your traditional "top and bottom style catchers, but the 2 halves come as a left and right setup. So in effect the catcher is joined in the middle. I'll try and get a closeup pic out to you over the weekend.

Have a look in tip and kerbside finds/$20 from the tip, I put a post in there as the one I got was nearly new and just had bent throttle linkages and a quick clean of the carb, still got it and it runs sweet, must get around to selling a few.
If you dont make a mess you aint making anything.

Hi Guys, what I'd like to know is where they dragged up the name Scott Bonnar....I thought that stopped with Rover... Who manufactured this machine? Is it a Rover?
Please do not PM me asking for support. Please post your questions in the appropriate forums, as the replies it may receive may help all members, not just the individual member. Kindest Regards, Darryl
