Hi all, My name is Ed and recently found myself in possession of a Scott Bonnar 520.. and it's a little beauty. I like tinkering with engines, I have a project track car (been working on since '99) however I have not been able to work on it for a little while due to life getting in the way.. So moving house and the purchase of a second hand mower has rekindled the need/want to tinker with an engine, and what better project than to restore this scotty to it's original glory Bought it off an old Italian guy over in hamilton selling second hand mowers on gumtree (was looking at rover's/victa's but couldn't go past the SB he had tucked away in the back of the shed). I am a bit of a cricket nut, my backyard involves 4m high nets and a cricket pitch... I also do a bit of home brewing as a hobby and have a home built keg fridge Came here hoping for some help and advice, there are some (ordinary) pics below.. I'll get some better shots on the weekend...

Hi Ed, Welcome to the Forum, I was donated a 520 a few weeks back identical to yours just blue and with a REBEL decal on the side, cleaned her up and fitted an exhasut and she runs beautifully. Not usually my thing as I mostly do pre 60s mowers. I dont share you love of Cricket lols. But Love a beer, My brother brews as well using his own grains and mash and I make all his gear, keg mods, wort chillers any stainless work he has a fridge also hold 3 kegs, glass rack on top with a side shelf and hose and tap come thru the side. he actually enters comps and has won a few minor awards. Anyways I also share you love of tinkering with engines as ive been a Auto Tech for 20 years. I hope you enjoy all this forum and its memebers have to offer, they are a great bunch,Diverse and knowledgable in all areas of most types mowers and small engines.

Hi Ed, and a warm welcome to the forum, its great to have another Scott Bonnar owner on board. We all like to learn new things and tinker here. I, too, am originally from Brisbane and Hamilton was part of my old stomping ground! Looking forward to seeing some new pics and also any questions you may have with your SB. Once again Ed, to OutdoorKing.

Hi Ed, owing to this thread going slightly off topic, I have moved some posts attached to you welcome (this is the 'Introductions' forum, to Collectors Corner > Identification of Particular Machines. This hopefully allow our members to identify your machine correctly.
