hi all,

Im a new poster to this forum so hi. I have an old Scott Bonnar 45 cylinder that i used when i did my grass up with couch. I bought it off a guy who was leaving the state. It worked well at the start but in the end my attention to detail on my lawn declined as did the need to have an imaculate bowling green finish. In the end i bought a normal mower to do the job.

However the other day i was cleaning out the garage and thought this would be a good project to try to overhaul the SB. So thats why ive joined up.

All i have to do now is get my access to the manuals sections sorted out(ive pm'd Bruce about this) and hopefully i can go full steam ahead. If there is any traps i should now about please let me know.

To set this up so we can help you with the project, please start a thread in the Scott Bonnar Reel Mowers forum, and post a number of pictures of your mower. At a minimum we need some general views, a picture of the reel showing the amount of meat left on the blades, and pictures of the chain sprockets taken from in line with the axle of each sprocket so we can evaluate the shape of the teeth. Tell us about how it operates, what concerns you about it, any modifications or faults it has, and so forth.
