Found this at the scrap yard yesterday.
I was so excited when i saw it that i nearly peed my pants.
Ive been wanting one for myself, seen a few on eBay priced a bit high and missed out every time.
Now ive got one.

Looks to be in pretty good shape.
Near new muffler looks promising.
Will need a few things done.
Not sure what i will do about a tank. I think its steel, i might just mount it up better and keep it. Might have a ride on tank here that will work. I do have some Victa tanks here, will have to look.
Havent looked at the motor yet. It turns over.

Is the disc a special disc just for the 550??
The hole for the missing blade is no good.

Mulch plug i had here, for a later power torque i assume. Might need a bit of massaging to make it fit.

Whats the clip meant to do??
Is the diff meant to have a diff action??? This thing does not like turning corners, the back axle is locked, both wheels want to turn the same.

Pretty happy with the $30 they slugged me for it.

The tank is a big plastic one thats strapped to the handle bars, disc I am not sure. I have one out the back in much sadder condition I need a new tank and engine for.

Thanks Ty, so it just holds the lever back.

Also its go no 'diff' action, its like its a solid axle, is that normal??

Here is my poor excuse for a 550, I put it there when I broke the end off the flywheel end of the crankshaft trying to undo it, rendering the engine useless.

It does seem to have an odd style of crank also, it has a blade mounting point like a 4 stroke mower using a bolt rather than a nut. I plan on one day fitting a vc autodrive engine I have sitting here onto it instead.

I cant comment on the axle, I dragged it out of a canal and that is locked up also.

Blade disc could probably used a 18" disc with the big blades, might be worth measurin it though.

Thanks for the pics joe.
Shes lookin a bit neglected.

Super 600 tank but strapped on.

Mine has a nut on the crank, all be it an up side down nut.

I was thinking i could just go with a regular disc. I will have to measure the distance for the holes.

SP mowers are not that common

And when you think about it, how hard is it to push something on wheels that weighs under 30kgs.

I wouldnt have cared if this one was not SP.

Found this one on Gumtree, Slightly different handles and a different tank.

Looks like a utility tank.
Maybe he made that fit.

30kg was a conservative over estimate.
That would be a heavy one, Maybe a power torque Victa would get close, they have an all cast irom block making them heavier than a Briggs.

A victa full crank Utility would be lucky to be much over 20kgs.

I do have a couple of SP 21" yardmans here, they weigh a bit.

And i got this back from the seller of the one above
"G'day Bob, The fuel tank is off another model . I had to fit the handle mount that came with that tank. The later model tanks seem to be of a better quality plastic and are less prone to uv damage( i never leave any of my mowers out side except when there in use). Cheers, Glenn."
