hey kbalm, get yourself to brisbane queensland if you want to do yourself a favour, great climate, great people . you have surf beaches both north & south, but best of all is the climate, no heating needed in winter(big saving) though it can get into the mid to high 30'sC in summer, that's my spiel, ozziejohn
i may have retired but i havent stopped yet, ive got one shed full of woodworking machines & hand tools(my other love, makin sawdust)my othr shed is mechanics tool chests stick &mig welders metal lathe 9 inch swing screw cutting so if icant buy it i make it,i hope im writing this in the right place, thats all i can think of at the moment, cheers & beers

Wouldnt go near sydney with a 10 foot pole personally, too many angry people there Perth is quite nice from experience. wagga area reaches 45+ degrees c in summer and very cold in winter. Bowen is not bad either, but was very humid.

I think Joe's on the money with Perth mate, Absolutely wonderful Place, definitely worth checking out!
Also Darwin's a pretty great place, a little hot at times, but it really has some interesting things to keep you going there!
Cheers Ty

Bluegmhtmonaro wow you made those places sound wonderful. Now I'm thinking about it.I like the idea of Mt.Druitt as you can just use anybody's car and when you've finished with it you can just park it anywhere, even out the front of your own house.Nobody really cares, but if they don't like it,they'll just burn it for you.I've also heard Cabramatta is nice this time of year,oh and Auburn I believe it is a great place to hang out in the shopping centre and train station(Poor Auburn what ever happened to it). Seriously K-balm there are a lot of wonderful places here (wonderful that sounded a bit poofy didn't it) in Australia and until you got here and looked around you won't know there there.Places like Coffs Harbour and yes OK I would like to go to Brisbane and maybe soon I will, but you can't forget some of those places we have mentioned there all great (notice I didn't put wonderful in again)(I nearly did)in there own way.You just need to see it for your self.OH yes I hear that St.Kilda in Melbourne is a another fantastic place. You would have to come and see for yourself. There is a great place even here in Canberra called Charnwood. There good ones all over the country and I'm sure that everyone here would agree it's the greats country in the world. Now only if we could get rid of Julia Gillard it would just be 150,000,000,000,000,000,000 plus 1 times 200,000,000,000,000 minus 15 carry one = times better.
Here for a good time, not a long time.

Hunter valley/ Newcastle is nice! We have nice beaches, saltwater lakes, nice vineyards, there's a mining boom so there's plenty of work. Where only 2hours from Sydney.
