This is giving me the irrits!
30" cut Victa ride on. The right side of the cut is nearly touching the ground, the left side is standing up by up to a couple of inches. It is more noticeable in longer, thicker grass.
Deck adjustments are at the max - the bottom of the deck is 30mm lower on the left side than the right.
The blade is the same distance from the bottom of the deck on both sides.
There doesn't seem to be any play in the spindle bearings.
The pulley is on a spline, so it's not slipping - plus the engine can be stalled by a heavy clump of grass, so the belt tension is obviously tight enough.

I'm starting to think of things like the deck flexing under load? Perhaps the belt is too tight when the cutter is engaged, and flexing the deck?

Any thoughts from anyone?

igor54,

Can you tell us the model of the ride on as 30" is not really good enough to be able to help and a picture would help as well.

A quick suggestion would be to check tyre presure for difference because this could cause a difference in cutting height but I think you might have other issues. cheers2

Hi Bruce,
It's a 3010T Victa - I think the deck is by Noma. I'll get it off the trailer tomorrow & take some photos.
I've checked tyre pressures.
The original deck had a broken leg on the spindle - I picked up another mower with a blown motor and swapped decks. The problem is still there, so it must be something other than the deck itself.

Igor, have you looked at the deck levelling adjustment procedure, explained in the owner manual? They say that you have to level it fore-and-aft before you tackle the side-to-side adjustment. I'm not clear on whether the two inter-act, but they may. (The manual warns against getting the two fore-and-aft eccentrics turned in opposite directions.) There is a gross adjustment for fore-and-aft (slotted hanger hole) as well as the fine adjustment (eccentric bush).

(This is from the 3012TX manual - I'm guessing that is similar to 3010T but I could be wrong.)
