Hi all, Just wondering if someone could tell me the proper name for the Rover Red Paint Colour?

I cant tell you the exact paint, but the red in the wattyl kill rust range would be very close to matching the original red.

Even though its expensive and it takes ages to dry that kill rust stuff has an unbeatable finish

Hi breadman, Welcome back,and it's great to see you are still involved in restorations.
As you may have realised, corporate colour paint formulas used by manufacturers are hard to come by....At least Rover used solid colours rather than hammertone finishes and would be easy to computer match at any automotive paint shop if you could supply a sample of the original colour.
This would give you an almost exact match of the Rover colour.

Now there's idea, When I do my first rover restoration I'll see if I can get a decent specimen and take it in and get it matched. Thanks

Hi Breadman had the same prob with paint for my rover ranger took a specimen and got the identical colour match colour ref number crj4(81165) code : Kt16 This was made by Tony Island Russco in Townsville but code should be the same at any auto paint shop hope it helps

I asked the question to Rover in Brisbane some 16 years ago.

The colour of the rover mowers is:
