The cord on my Victa 1988 2 stroke mower broke.
I took off the cover and fuel tank, and was able to thread in a new cord.
BUT
the recoil action does not work.
How do I reset the recoil action?

Starter black plastic reel has a part number ST12644A.

You need to tension the spring first

on a great video Joe, it explains everything that needs to be done.

I made that vid to help a fellow member a while ago, its been used heaps now, without the camera, I have got that repair to under 3 minutes before, depending on how friendly the screws are on the cowl.

I managed to reset the tension in the starter. I was winding in the wrong direction!

Now other problems, but will try myself first.
