Hi all i have a briggs quantum mower. I was cleaning the carby and i assume that i blew away the needle seat because now it lets air past if you invert the carby and blow into the fuel line. This annoyed me but i did buy a carby kit from this site only 10bux https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/index.p...p;cPath=193_195_203&products_id=323. I assume this kit was the correct kit however it did come with the gasket for the primer bulb type carby (this carby has a choke.
do i need to get this kit https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/index.p...mp;cPath=193_195_203&products_id=327

Anyway onto the problem. I assume the little O-ring that fits on the needle in this photo is the seat?

How do i get it into the hole where the need goes? It seems that i need a lot of force is this right?

heres a few other photoes

I took the head off and cleaned an amazing amount of carbon off the head. The sparkplug had so much carbon on it.
started it and for about 20minutes was good but then it started to puff blue smoke.
Also when the head was off i noticed that on the compression stroke the exhaust valve opened a little and clicked... any ideas?
I forgot to measure the diametre while it was off silly me!

the O ring is the needle seat wink

the seat relies on a press fit so yes iw would be tight to install. smile

Now im confused one person saying it is an o-ring one saying it isnt.
Is the little o-ring that neatly fits on the needle the seat? If it isnt the seat where abouts does it go in the carby?
thanks.

G'day,
Just to clear up any confusion the black o ring type thing is meant to be pressed into the inlet needle housing separate of the needle. I usually use a small pin punch and press them in firm. The needle then pushes into the small hole in the o ring and cuts off the flow. The inlet needle needs to move separately to the 'o' ring (or seat).
I hope this clears up confusion, rather that confusing you further!
Regards Jay
