G'day i was on my Victa 4012T today for probably close to 2hours and just as i was finished i had serious trouble going uphill on the ride on. The drive belt was still on because i put her into reverse and went down hill fine, but there was no way it could go uphill for some reason.
oh i better add, that it just comes to a stop while going uphill. the revs and engine sounds normal.
any suggestions?
cheers.

Rumble, On the gearbox it will have an ID plate and I need those numbers. One problem could be a sheared key in the pulley on the axle.

Rumble I am after the model of the transmission as the serial number is not that much help, I think it would be a peerless trans but without the model it is hard to help. The other option is that we have the complete workshop manual in the parts list and manuals of the forum which shows the different transmissions by picture. It is under Tecumseh transmissions from memory.

Does your mower use Hydro-gear transmission. if not sure look on top of transmission & you will see manufacturer & Part code. My Victa Pro16 won't drive in either direction. Plenty of oil, drive brake is functioning ok, Actuate/Bypass lever is Actuated & if I jack up rear wheels they respond to pedal, but very little torque. I am going to drop the transmission & check for obvious problems with the integrated pump. I suspect that this is same problem you have. cheers..B
