You probably need someone that has tried this before, if you can't find an answer maybe look in some user / parts manuals for both models or you could contact Greenfield directly or an authorized dealer.
Thanks Max, It is just I saw an Evo on Marketplace with no deck or motor, but what I did notice was that it was fitted with a diff lock and I was thinking this might suit my mates Anniversary model. Might be easier to see if I could just swap the rear axle assembly across but I also like the Evo steering as it is much better than the Anniversary. I haven't spoken to my mate about doing the conversion, I was just throwing ideas around in my head at the moment. Another problem doing this sort of conversion is he lives 30ks out of Ballarat and that makes things hard not having it sitting in my shed. BTW the little Rover rideon is working well and my daughter is super happy with it
With no deck or motor I wouldn't pay more than $50. ,besides you can get a running mower for $350. or less.
I've seen a few advertised for free.
Yes the Rover ride on turned out good ,it was worth the effort for an enthusiast like yourself ,usually if I repair equipment for sale most people aren't interested if it's older than 10 years. I guess they can't understand how sound mechanically speaking these old ride on mowers are when refurbished, when they look at them they just think it' s old so must be no good.
Thanks for the Generator I got from you Norm ,I gave the main jet / emulsion tube a clean and it ran fine and the Governor was working.
Glad you got the genny going Max, I knew the Honda motor was good but back in the early nineties my son had said there was something wrong with one of the phases in the genny. I was only thinking of the diff lock on the Greenie because using the single wheel drive makes turning so much easier. As for the Rover no way would I repair one for sale, just a waste of time, just for starters I spent days rebuilding the deck, they are so simple and rugged and could go on for another 50 years as long as you can get new lining put on the friction disc when it needs it.
Yeah I thought the generator wasn't producing full wattage as it was just running a 2 hp electric motor ,it could be the regulator or a loose connection or damaged windings ,it will still run a 9 inch grinder so it can still be handy.
I try to stay away from old ride on mowers even if I get offered one for $50. that is working.
Yes Max I certainly don't bother chasing rideons, just not worth the effort that you have to put into them and nobody ever understands the time and effort it takes even just to simple things on them. Most of what I do is to give me something to keep me occupied
