Hi guys, does anyone know what purpose the circled area serves on a Briggs 3.5 carburetter, it's just that I have not seen one like this before.

I would think it is an air bleed for the idle mixture but I haven't one here. I don't usually see these small 3.5hp engines around here most are around 6+hp even on walk behind mowers.
