Little story tonight. New people moved moved in next door about 6 months ago, I haven't met them so I don't know anything about them. Lawns and nature strip haven't been mowed since before they moved in, the previous owner didn't like cutting the lawns either, not sure if they were cut for the sale. I used to use the nature strip for testing some of my mowers. As they paid just on a million dollars for the place you would think they would look after the place a bit. I'm not sure how big the block is but it is bigger than ours and is the biggest block in the estate so I think it is over 1000 sq meters. Anyway tonight I heard a mower running so I went out to look and here the bloke is cutting the grass with a 16 inch Yardking.. Spend a million dollars on a house and buy a toy to mow the yard.

Well once they are up to their eyeballs in debt (between house plus 2 brand luxury new cars I am betting), add in 10k-20k worth of smart phones/TV/ipad and increased repayments on mortgage then they are pretty much screwed. By the way, was this one of yours? looks familiar from one of your posts when you were sorting out the 4 blade carriers https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/pakenham/lawn-mowers/4-stroke-lawn-mower/1302616647

Hi Tyler, no not one of mine but I did see it earlier. I do all sorts of oddball stuff to get rid of bases and motors. I have quite a few long shaft Victa motors I picked up recently so you can expect to see a few oddballs kicking around over ne next little while.

Have a rental a couple houses down. Woman yells at kids (9 year old daughter and 14 yr old son who should be mowing the damn lawn but anyway) to get anything off the lawn they want to keep in one piece.
10 mins later mower fires up (newish 500e briggs masport from bunnings with the lightweight 2 blade quickcut bar set up) after stalling 10 times on the thick weed clumps there is a god almighty crack (mowed 2x hulahoops)
2 minutes later there is a deafening boom and the motor stops dead.
Son calls out "mum are you ok?"
She replied "I am fine... but your football is f***ed"
I felt more sorry for the mower

Hi Tyler, I will climb up the ladder later and see if he attempted to mow the back yard which is a big area and sloping up hill. As you say probably mortgaged to the max and the bloke I saw with the mower was probably early thirties. Don't know if he is the owner or a family member. At least they are a vast improvement on the horrible family who camped there for the previous 20+ years
