My friend broke her wheel.......... a 25cm one off the big red thing. I don't know what brand as label fell off the mower. Big 25 cm rear wheels, really weak construction......
None of my friends have any money to spare so I was asked to fix it........
Here goes.

How did you cut the wheel centre out? Lucky you had a wheel to sacrifice that goes on the same axle.

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

From the angle, it looks like a victa rapid mulcher

They had significant issues with rear wheels snapping, often fixing them free under warranty

I thought it might be one of those generic "put your label here" Chinese numbers exported all over the world like the notorious Victa Thunder. The black plastic piece oh the front had me wondering.

Good sleuthing Tyler.

Not quite a thunder MF, but close relative. As an aside, the motor is actually 5ftlb, so more like a 3.75hp, which must do well on a 20in in long grass.

The other thing is 2 I have seen have a novel way of ensuring the crank doesn't bend when the solid bar blade hits an immovable object

The deck is so thin that the motor is ripped through its mounts!

What I meant was an import sold in various markets like the Thunder is.

That makes for an easier diagnosis.

Unfortunately that is the way everything is going. Bring in a shipping container full, flog it under a brand name to an unsuspecting public then walk away.

Currently a 3+ month wait on a thunder/hurricane catcher - and thats the current model

The wheel broke again...... it's not going to beat me...
Screwed wood together with liquid nails. Pity jigsaw went a bit off track.
I tapped the bearings in . I mowed the back lawn.....

I can't wait for the Chinese economy to collapse so we can be spared from all the junk and pollution from the junk they are producing and dumping around the world. They constantly fly under the "a developing country" banner so are not controlled by the emission laws the "developed" world has to adhere to

Nice work around Speedy, but Victa were warrantying these. Whether or not they will honour it now its 4 years after the fact or not remains to be seen, but its worth a shot.

Go to a Victa dealer with it and quote Dealer Service Bulletin DSB1084

I didn't invent this wheel, but I improved it....... marine 8 ply.....
I mowed her lawn as it was a big job, but that motor is good..... the grass grows overnight..... up here....

The victa dealer said take it back to shop you bought it it with receipt.... fair enough..............
Great Chinese B&S......
cheers speedy
