Saw this one on gumtree Have seen some pommie export models with a brake handle and a little box where the electric start would bolt on, but have never seen someone in Australia selling one What I want to know is how the throttle control works - because if they run the kill switch through the little 'EBS' box thing then they wouldn't have wires going to the carby. But then no wires going to the carby means if you pull it back to the stop position, the throttle cable unclips itself from the cam. Wonder how they did it? Did they leave them in the carby and make it a redundant system? https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/cooranbong/lawn-mowers/victa-lawn-mower/1273648038

Since I don't know the equipment in Down Under let me ask this "Is equipment self propelled?" IF not I give you an idea how it might work based the US designs.

No AVB, not self propelled. Tyler, how do you fund this stuff? I'm considering grabbing it.
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

MF, I just have a look when I have a minute on gumtree.
I wouldn't mind a tornado either, and I thought thats a good deal for $160 (knowing it was over east) and clicked on it to see what sort of condition it was in and noticed the handle.
A nice tornado is on my shortlist to add to the collection

Okay then the bail at the upper handle pulls via a cable a mechanical flywheel brake which has a electric switch incorporated in the flywheel brake. Now on some Kohler engines instead of a switch they use a conductive brake pad. Either way both kill the ignition system.
Also the mower appear to be a fixed speed engine.

Hi AVB
Its actually one of the Victa 'Razor designs - the throttle is in the middle of the handle (in the photo it blends in with the right hand bail brake mounting point
Although we all know too well that many PT's were practically a fixed speed motor from the factory. haha
Interesting about the kohler conductive pad
Have heard kohler have also jumped on the 'No oil change required' bit
Regards Tyler

Interesting the muffler guard as well, that was never something fitted to any domestic sold ones. I wonder if they were looking at a US export? Being a 2 stroke would have killed that pretty quickly. I wonder if it had a bar blade? Swingbacks were outlawed years ago over there

Pretty sure it would have been a pommie export as I was under the impression they had great issues in exporting to the USA. Still would have swing backs in UK
Am fairly sure you can get some after market 'flail' blade kits, but I know how strict their blade tip speed laws are over there - if you have a 22in direct drive push mower it works out something stupid like 2400rpm from the factory haha.
