Hello ODK history lovers

When one looks at the view numbers for the Victa Imperial
History Record [link below], it makes no sense at all! A lot of
interest has been shown for this lesser-known Victa model.

I can’t explain that – because Victa was never really known
as a reel mower maker. It is clear, though, that the Imperials
did sell in respectable volume.

Here I present a brochure for the 1971-72 mowing season.

These are the 16”, 20” and 24” Kirby-powered machines
that appeared in the final season before a major makeover
would occur [for the 1972-73 season].

PART TWO – The Brochure
There were two significant changes made to the original 1966
Imperials and these are represented in the models shown here.

First, a redesigned, beefier, centrifugal clutch replaced the original
Morrison one. Second, a single-point height adjuster was added for
the front roller, taking guesswork out of height adjustment.

This brochure is not from my collection. It was generously lent to
me by member wce to help other collectors and to add to the
History Record for the Imperials.

ODK thanks wce for helping us. smile
