What a fantastic community you have all built up here. Really happy to have found it and after lurking for a while decided to subscribe and get further involved.
I have pictures of when i was young 10 or so posing on my old man's then lawn mower, i was even given a plastic one as a kid to push around so i too could be or better yet, pretend to be a grown up doing what my dad was doing.
My father was a motor mechanic by trade and i grew up around mechanical thing's my whole life. However i became a Joiner.
Played around with car's for a bit but when petrol was hitting the 80 cent's a litre mark i got rid of my V8.(spewing yes) "P
Long story short i have just picked up my 5th Victa Powertorque. It's a Mustang . One previous owner who was and incredible man to meet and spend some time with and the mower itself is an absolute gem.
So i now have a Corvette Mulch n Catch that's had a rebuild done to it and some minor body chassis work work. I have a VC 300 that i did the same thing to. I have a Tornado that was very low on compression but not anymore. However the base/deck on this one is a little on the err side. One other that is oldish but the deck is in very good nick which i'll do a restoration on.
I'm not quiet sure what the obsession is and not really sure why I'm doing what I'm doing but i am having fun. I also have to be very careful not to get too carried away as i can only use one mower at a time.
Look forward to chatting some more and getting further involved.
Cheers

Hi Styvo
welcome here we try to have fun most of the time.
I guess if you asked most of us why we do it some would also say not sure but I like doing it and others would say just because I can.
As you have discovered the Tornado bodies are a bit on the average side and fall to bits. Also incase you hadn't noticed the crank is longer so you can fit it on a Talon base easily or if you want to fit it on a standard Victa base it needs to be spaced up 20mm, no big deal.
Anyway, welcome here and have fun, and as you have noticed, most of us can only use one mower at a time
