Hi All,

I've got a B&S 2hp motor that I'm looking to rebuild and need help with identifying the model and finding a parts manual.

This is stamped on the engine cowl 60102 0302 01 6906091

Thanks

laugh I forgot to put the 0 infront of the number, was wondering why it didn't find anything initially.

Cheers

G'day QSR

We know who used this engine spec. in Australia ...

https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/84251/model-40-14-reel-lawnmower-c1961.html

Maybe this was a Scott Bonnar engine ... ?

Cheers

Also being a '69 model the trim number needs to 99

Format number as 060102-0302-99

G'day folks,

I find this version of Briggs' manual/parts list search site a bit easier to use; http://bsintek.basco.com/MDEXResultsPages/default.aspx

It's much better at searching from incomplete model numbers.

Cheers,
Gadge

Yep it's a scott bonnar motor. Pull most of it apart today and aside for the old oil and bad fuel the motor looks to be in good nick! It has the crosshatch honing marks in the bore not sure if it's from factory or if the motor had a rebuild in it's time. Pictures attached. When I rebuild it should I give it a light hone or leave bore as is?

Nice nick QSR.
If that bore is as good as it looks, I would measure up, check ring gap then on a good result, deglaze with a ball hone.
If the rings are within gap spec & tension, I would lightly dress the rings on a surface plate/glass with finest wet n dry to remove any edge - or replace.
Have you plasti-gauged the big end bearing?
