Hi,
I cut the bottom off a PT crankcase of about 20mm thick off a motor that had been straight fuelled. Even cut the plastic plug in half. This was when I needed to lift the engine on my PT 24 conversion. It cut easily with an angle grinder with the thin disc. Made a nice neat job of it, all the visible parts anyway.

Jeff Hi Jeff, do you mark where you're going to cut first and what plastic plug are you talking about?
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

MF, the plastic plug is where the starter motor cutout is.

Yes bolts need to be longer. and you have to drill out the threads in the spacer. Marked first with piece of timber or something. Ran off a bit on one end but did not matter as it was not visible.
Thanks Norm for the accolades. Very proud to receive compliments from someone of your standing.
