G'day,

Recently picked up an old Cox compact tractor. I'm having trouble finding a user/repair manual (I've found a parts list, but that's all.)

Im also having trouble tuning the Flo Jet carb on the B&S engine (253707)

If anyone could help point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. I'm looking at reconditioning the mower but can find very little info on it.

Depending on the year of manufacture of the Briggs you would need one of two manuals. What is the date code of the engine?

Hi there. Well as with most Australian built stuff there isn't really a repair manual. some had user manuals in the parts list but thats about it. Is there anything in particular you need to know about it?
they are very basic, pretty easy to fix. Looks very tidy to start with!

Carb tuning is easy, permitting there isn't something wrong. For a start i would ask why you are trying to tune it. has it been cleaned? if all is clean you know its good, bottom mixture screw (under the bowl) is high speed (full revs) there is another mixture screw on the top, you have to remove the air filter, it is low speed, then you're idle speed is on the throttle shaft. start high, then do low, then adjust idle to suit.

I've noticed the lack of owner manual with the old Aussie stuff!

The engine's OM should be the same as the USA. I do think that the Aussies speak and read a version of English yet; unless, you have been overran by the Chinese.
